Finally Finishing The Plumbing: Shop Build #30
I’ve watched this so many times I’ve lost count of the comments I’ve made Lol 😂 I hope one day to be this good!!! Forge is lit, gonna go make things that are supposed to be flowers or try atleast haha 😂 thank you Cy!!! From the bottom of my heart!! Thank you 🙏👍😊
What a great story and adventure. Hat's off to you. Wish I had the skill to pull this off with my son. Perhaps he will with his (son). Blessings to you.
Well, it’s a pretty house, so that’s not nothing. Interesting insight on the pan flashing, I’ve never thought of shorter being better in some instances. The re-work on the hardwood floors at the end is a real kick in the teeth. That’s the kind of stuff every GC worries about. Maintaining a sense of humor is critical in those situations.
Bootiful...
Gonna have shakes in the finished dry wood. Just tge way the crown shattered ..
Question for EC: Will you (or are you) as good at anything at 65 years old as Cy is as good at everything at 87? I'm 30 and just now becoming broadly competent, but no where near crafting a steel octopus off the cuff. It's inspirational to see someone be at such peaks in their late 80s. My grandfather was the same way, very active, fit and competent at 89.
Thanks, I needed this. Lol, I used a different technique… and while I didn’t fall .. boy did I pucker up! Next time will be safer
Takes a real man to admit to their mistakes. I'll tell you, I learned a lot from that series, helped me help my brother with his house he is building.
great video.
The perfect narrator . Clear tone of your voice draws one in , not to turn away or swipe left. Always a great video.
I watched almost every one, and you Nate and the others certainly put the work in. I would have loved to come over and see the house, but living in the UK, it wasn’t feasible. It doesn’t surprise me to hear that it took a lot of getting over. You did a good job, and by filming it, Like Larry Hahn all those years ago, the world is a better place as a result. Well done!
How very good of you to shine a light on this very troublesome condition. I have recently been diagnosed, and as such am no expert at all, but have looked further into it, and must advise, before anyone goes full on diy MD, that apnea relates to everything from diabetes to depression, and so a more thorough (health) professional diagnosis just might be advisable. Not at all to take away from the relief these methods bring. But just maybe it could be magnitudes better? Enjoy good health.
This story is amazing I love your videos sir
The Spec House series is, without a doubt, the best long format teaching content that I've seen anywhere!
This looks like a series I'll have to go back and watch! As for the space under the steps, if the homeowner is ever desperate enough for it they can knock a hole and get to it lol not like it's off limits forever!
What is the name of the wire sleeves and where could I get them?
That was such a good defief! Lots to learn from even this short video! Your team has done some fine work!
That hitch is GENIUS! The simplest solutions are the most elegant. I wish there was a way to make college more accessible to wider variety of people. It’s difficult, being a good engineer, doesn’t always translate to being a good student, and being a good student doesn’t always translate to being a good engineer. I’ve met so many people who would be amazing engineers, but school didn’t work for them. Then there’s the issue of cost, college is expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! I had an amazing physics professor, but his lectures paled in comparison to Khan Academy. Sure, taking a Khan Academy course doesn’t carry any credit, and outside of a school setting it’s difficult to have the motivation to complete a whole course, but these are fixable problems! I have high hopes for school in the future.
Goldmine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s almost always a bad idea to get a building permit do a single family home. Just do the work and if you go to sell it just get it amended then. Better to ask forgiveness than permission
I’ve been using the same pair of knipex pliers for over 15 years. Had them since starting doing hvac. No longer do hvac but they’ve held pipe while brazing and now how whatever I need to tighten or unbolt. They just work so damned good
I believe the high hardness of the steel on the knipex pliers allows them to dig into much higher hardness materials than traditional slip joint pliers
Wonderful video.. I suspect every new construction has numerous errors -- my second story remodel certainly did (concrete foundation forms blew out!) -- but in most cases no one ever knows! Remind me never to install an over the stove pot filler. Thank you.
Well done! And fully appreciate the final words on the benefits and blessing of embracing hard work.
Starting this journey with this video, thank you for this content!
I believe there is one in Chesapeake Virginia off of battlefield Blvd. If so, thank you guys
The man who Never Made a mistake, NEVER made anything. You, Mr. Wadsworth made an awful lot!! Even if one or two things were learning points, as how not to do it. I salute you.
Any time a elder has time to talk we all should listen !
Incredible!
Such a good, spot on video. Those Knipex pliers are absolutely the best and just like you said, after using Knipex you have to force yourself to pickup a pair of standard channel locks.
What Dustin Hoffman is doing here ? 😁jokes apart, this is awesome! Why so many trolls here badmouthing this good man? The Australian guy is a completely asshole . Australopithecus monkey 🙉
Beautiful job
Thank you
Stuck on step 2. How do you get the table down???
I love that house. Yes, hind-sight is always 20/20. But so what!
practi8ce bench- lol
Thankyou Scott, for being the grandad many of us never had.
The knipex smooth jaws will fully replace adjustable wrenches for you once you try them.
31 yrs old and been in the trades since highschool... Had my own successful buisness, had neck /back problems, had to take long stent off, currently working for a Contractor that has nowhere near the experience and skills that I have.... Loving the career, hating the job😂😅😂
At least his good at something. His war on terror had me convinced that he's incompetent at everything.
I found that working fir myself is beneficial, yea. To be able to work and have money to enough to be able to take time off to take time with family or what ever, you need to have what I call a golden goose. A carpenter needs one or more clients that pay enough to be able to do that.
This is up there with Larry Hawm series for me.
I guess taps belong over a drain. Not every convenience is worth having.
One thing is always nice to see. When it matters, they go metric.
This is the philosophy of stoicism. It will completely change your outlook on life if you adopt it. That said, it's also something you have to readopt every day, and every time life throws you a curveball. But it does get easier to let things slide, and focus on fixing and moving forward. Thanks for your wise words!
Pot filler above stove? That is just insane! How often do you add a little water to a pot, and how large is the pot that you won't be able to lift it? Its not like you live in an industrial kitchen. It makes the whole kitchen into a wet room, and should require waterproof flooring, slope and floor drain.
TBH guy. Tmi. I'm just trying to get the job done b4 lunchtime.
Good tools make half the job, bad tools make you crazy.
Safety squint: so many, including myself, have done this. I started using safety classes.
If its not a full tang its not for me
